Unity Sporting Club was formed in 2007 to support and develop grassroots football for the local community. The club operates like a sporting academy providing professional knowledge football, organising football competition and still making sure it stays in touch with the very people the club was setup to help and protect, which are the children and youths of Wenchi District and B/A region.
In the shortest time the club has achieve many beneficial things for the community, such as the introduction of an annual football tournament which gives local youngsters in a clubs around the area to participate against each other and the winning team playing in a grand finale against Unity Academy teams.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
